know, Haute Couture of paris fashion

Haute couture is the highest level of fashion design, characterized by exclusive, one-of-a-kind garments made to measure for individual clients. The term is derived from the French words "haute", meaning "high", and "couture", meaning "dressmaking".

Haute couture is typically made from the finest materials, such as silk, cashmere, and lace, and is sewn with the utmost attention to detail. The garments are often embellished with hand-stitching, embroidery, and other decorative techniques.

Haute couture is not mass-produced, and each garment takes weeks or even months to create. As a result, it is incredibly expensive, with prices often reaching into the tens of thousands of dollars.

Haute couture is not intended for everyday wear. Instead, it is seen as a form of artistic expression and a way for designers to showcase their creativity. The garments are often worn by celebrities and other high-profile individuals, and they can also be seen in fashion shows and exhibitions.

There are currently only 15 houses that are recognized as haute couture houses by the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, the governing body of haute couture in Paris. These houses include Chanel, Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Yves Saint Laurent.

Here are some of the defining characteristics of haute couture:

  • Made-to-measure: Haute couture garments are made to the exact specifications of the individual client. This includes taking into account the client's measurements, body shape, and personal style.
  • Exclusive: Haute couture garments are not mass-produced. Each garment is unique and is created specifically for one client.
  • Expensive: Haute couture garments are incredibly expensive. The cost of materials, labor, and the time it takes to create a garment all contribute to the high price tag.
  • Handcrafted: Haute couture garments are made by hand by skilled artisans. This ensures that the garments are of the highest quality and that the smallest details are taken care of.
  • Innovative: Haute couture designers are constantly pushing the boundaries of fashion. They use new materials, techniques, and designs to create garments that are both beautiful and innovative

Mr. Bertelli added that this increase is far from being sufficient to a complete recovery of the luxury sector and that Europe remains a problem. This is partly due to the fact that the European luxury sector is driven by tourist sales and, even after the lockdowns are lifted, tourism across the continent is expected to remain in low levels, especially while no vaccine is available.
